Furtiva
Inspired by the aeronautical technology of the late 20th century, the Furtiva (Spanish for “stealth”) was created using only flat surfaces. Like a top-secret aircraft, this guitar might very well be invisible to the radar.
However, it is not invisible to the eye. On the contrary, its bold lines and intertwining surfaces are intriguing, and the forward shifting of the body provides a sense of dynamism, like a modern interpretation of the Italian futurism proposed by artists like Boccioni, Balla, and Severini.
The ambiguity in Leo’s designs transpires again through this one: The shapes are dark, sharp, and cold, but somehow, they are also sensual and mysterious.
